NANASP is dedicated to ensuring older adults have access to quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare. We advocate for policies that protect seniors' ability to obtain essential medical services, prescription medications, and preventive care without financial burden. Our work focuses on eliminating barriers to healthcare access, reducing out-of-pocket costs, and preserving critical health programs that older adults depend on.
NANASP Executive Director Bob Blancato submitted formal comments to the Department of Commerce regarding their Section 232 investigation on pharmaceutical imports. NANASP expresses concerns that potential tariffs on medicines from allied nations would increase costs and create shortages for seniors, nearly 90% of whom rely on prescription medications. NANASP urges officials to conclude the investigation without imposing tariffs on our allies, emphasizing that protecting seniors' health and economic security should guide decisions affecting medication access.
